Astroneer Skidrow Download is an adventure game based on the action and discovery of extraterrestrial planets for PC and the XONE platform. This is the first project of the System Era Softworks studio. The Astroneer action takes place in the 21st century, at a time when humanity is dynamically expanding its sphere of influence into the galaxy. Technologies for fast and cheap stellar travel made the situation look like during the Gold Rush era. Enterprising explorers travel alone to the limits of the space explored and risk their lives in exchange for the chance to make a fortune. It is in such daredevil that players play.
In the game, all planets and moons are procedurally generated and their surface is made of voxels. Our astronaut is equipped with tools to profoundly alter the environment, allowing him to dig holes in order to discover raw materials, artifacts or shipwrecks. We can sell or collect valuables and raw materials in the manufacturing system. It allows not only the construction of tools and vehicles, but also the construction of bases, ranging from simple structures created for a unique rest to a mini-city.
A procedurally generated world has an open structure and we travel between space objects using space ships. Of course, players also have the ability to modify and build these units. We spend most of our time on the surface of planets and moons, where, apart from exploration, it is necessary to discover the secrets of extinct civilizations and to face many threats. Every visited world has different conditions, influencing m.in. for the gravity, the type of raw materials or the dangers encountered.
Located in Seattle, the independent studio System Era Softworks has announced its first project. It turned out to be the discovery of Astroneer Download, foreign planets, created solely for PC purposes. Currently, the title is too early to allow authors to give a release date, even approximate. The action of Astroneer Download will take place in the 21st century, at a time when humanity is dynamically expanding its sphere of influence in the galaxy.
